Skin & Nail Care

Skin and nail problems are common. But with the right treatment from an experienced podiatrist, most are successfully treated.

Skin issues – such as tinea, psoriasis and eczema are annoying. Still, they can be readily treated or managed, as can corns and callus.

Common nail problems –  e.g., thickened, damaged or ingrown nails can all be fixed pretty easily. We can take samples of your skin or nails to send to pathology for an accurate diagnosis if we suspect a fungal condition. If so, this can then be managed correctly.

Nail surgery – If you need ingrown nail surgery, we can perform this in the clinic any time. Most people don’t need the full surgery. Instead, they require temporary removal of a portion of the nail rubbing on the raw skin down the side of the toe. However, we can advise you if you might benefit from the permanent removal and do this for you with a local anaesthetic.
